Darius Garland Sharp in Return

Darius Garland looked great in his return to action on Tuesday night after being out for four straight games, as he put up 27 points and ten assists.

His 3-point shot wasn’t the sharpest, but he had his pull-up mid-range game working, going 3-of-5 on those attempts.

He also maximized the absolute best out of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, getting them looks at the rim or in the mid-range, as eight of his assists went to that pair combined, and they shot a combined 69.2 percent from the field when attempting shots when given a pass by him.

Garland is a high IQ basketball player, as he knows where to get his shots off at the right time while orchestrating the offense and getting his teammates in the right spots.

Jarrett Allen on a Tear

In his last three games, Jarrett Allen has been on an absolute tear, as he’s averaging 20.3 points on over 70 percent shooting, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game.

Allen has been huge for Cleveland on both sides of the ball all season long. He knows how to be effective within the confines of the flow of the game and still put up astronomical numbers. That’s winning basketball.

Game by game, “The Fro” is solidifying his case to make the All-Star Game for the first time in his career, and the beauty of it all is that he’s still only in his first year of a newly signed five-year extension with the Cavs.

Anfernee Simons Stepping Up

The Trail Blazers are currently without Damian Lillard, as he’s dealing with lower abdominal tendinopathy and will be out for at least another week.

That has given way for Anfernee Simons to step up, and that he has, as he’s averaging 35.5 points and 7.0 assists over his last two games, which includes a 43 point outburst against the Atlanta Hawks earlier this week.

If this season has taught us anything, it’s to make the most of each opportunity, and you’ll be rewarded. Simons is doing just that.

Cavs Win

The Cavs, unfortunately, took a loss their last time out, but they were facing one of the hottest teams in the league in the Grizzlies.

This time around, however, they’ll be going up against a team that’s missing not only their best player but one of the better players in the league.

With how each and every player has embraced their role and how the team has been navigating through multiple obstacles, this would serve as a great opportunity to play their brand of basketball and not face much resistance.
